Brendan - Carlton

Hi, I'm Brendan. I'm a third-year student at the University of Melbourne, and an Italian tutor, with experience tutoring both 1/2 and 3/4 VCE Italian. I have studied four languages, so I understand that different teaching methods work for different students, and I try to tailor my tutoring to these needs. I also understand that VCE can be high-pressured, but the key to success in Italian is steady, incremental progress throughout the year. I have studied Linguistics and Italian at the University of Bologna in Italy, and have worked at the Istituto Italiano di Cultura (IIC) in South Yarra. I have won the Dante Alighieri Recitation competition (Italian-background division) twice, and I make sure to pay attention to a student's pronounciation. I received a study score of 48 in VCE Italian.

I live in Carlton, and I am happy to travel on public transport within a few kilometres of my house (CBD, Brunswick), usually for an extra $10 a session. Otherwise my students normally meet me at Melbourne University, which is always easily reachable by public transport. My fee per hour is $30, or $40 per hour for two or more students.

I have tutored students in Italian for since 2009, both Year 11 and 12. In addition to my experience above, I have given interviews on Italian SBS Radio and completed exchanges to Rome and Bologna.
