Of every area of science, Physics is my favourite. Physics is the science that explains the world around us and attempts to unravel the mysteries of the universe - you don't get much cooler than that!
Call me a nerd but I think the relationship between mathematics - Newtons equations for example and the movement of the planets is one of the most amazing things ever discovered. That we can, with a piece of paper and a pen work out where Neptune will be in the year 3000 with a high degree of accuracy is just mind-blowing.
It's this kind of appreciation for science, Physics in particular that can motivate a young student to put the time and effort in to learn it. Luckily my father was very interested in the stars and planets and so instilled in me a love for these things as my high-school physics teacher was singularly uninspiring.
I remember looking up at the night sky when i was very young and being told that we were looking back in time billions of years as light travels at a fixed speed from these objects that are very, very, very far away.
Taking science, physics especially at an advanced level can open up lots of fascinating career options, like engineering, research, space science, aeronautics, electrical engineering etc etc.
