I remember really looking forward to lessons with my first private music teacher. I was about 10 at the time and enjoyed music at school but wasn't especially good at it. My mum was convinced i'd be a rock star for some reason (she grew my hair really long and everything, but people just thought i was a girl!).
Having a private music teacher changed everything for me. I had more confidence playing at school and was in great demand with my friends to show them what I'd learned at home. I didn't go on to become a rock star (unfortunately for my mum!), but it made a big difference for me at school and has kindled a life-long interest in playing music as a hobby on a variety of instruments.
If your child is interested in music (or if you have visions of them taking over from Robby Williams!) you should really consider giving them a head start with a private music teacher. If they show a flair for music this should be nurtured from a young age for them to really realize their potential.
