Pool lessons are becoming increasingly important as more and more people have pools built at home.
Every year there are horrific statistics released which show an ever increasing rate of drownings at home pools. It's the responsibility of the parent to ensure that their child is taught basic survival skills in the water as soon as they are able.
Pool lessons at home, or at a nearby private pool are the best way to do this. Pool lessons in a home environment will familiarize the child with the pool and the swim teacher will be able to show them exactly what to do if they fall in - where to try to swim to, how to get out, or how to float without sinking.
The vast majority of home drownings occur when there is no adult supervision so teaching your child survival skills is imperative.
In addition to pool lessons you should also consider taking a CPR course so that if the worst does happen whether at your pool or anywhere else you at least stand a chance of resuscitating your child.
