Top 5 things to look for in a piano teacher

Where do they live?
It's best to choose a piano teacher that lives near you. The less the travel time the more likely it is that you will be able to get a booking.
What levels do they teach?
If you're just starting out learning the piano, find a piano teacher that teaches basic piano levels (almost all will do!). If you are an experienced player you'll need someone that has experience teaching people of your level. The piano teachers should indicate on their profile what levels they are able to teach.
How much experience do they have?
Ideally you'll be looking for a piano teacher with a lot of experience teaching the right age group. Sometimes though the exact fit might not be available in your area. Experience doesn't always mean you get a great teacher - people can get into bad habits! A newly minted piano teacher can be a better teacher than someone with 20 years experience!
What ages do they teach?
Some piano teachers specialise in teaching children from 6 years. Other piano teachers baulk at the thought of teaching children! Be sure to check your piano teacher can teach you or your child.
How much do they charge?
This is usually the first question people ask before any of the above! Most piano teachers base their pricing on their experience and level of instruction. Compare pricing in your area to ensure you are getting a fair deal.
