Learning to play piano can be a rewarding experience that will last a lifetime. Many people learn to play piano when they are still at school, although the people that excel at playing piano usually use a private music teacher to supplement their instruction at school.
One of the biggest challenges when learning to play the piano is learning to read music. It can seem really difficult at first, a bit like learning to read. Learning to read music just takes lots of practice but once learnt it will pay for itself many times over.
Lots of piano students find co-ordinating two hands at the same time to be very hard. Again this just takes lots of practice (unless you are lucky enough to be ambidextrous!).
