There are 3 main types of fitness training
- Aerobics: Aerobics is great for fat burning and to maintain a healthy heart. It conditions the body to provide a constant supply of oxygenated blood to the muscle groups when under physical stress so that performance can be improved when performing anaerobic exercises like sprinting or weight lifting.
- Muscle Building: Muscle building should form a core part of every fitness training program. Core strength (strong stomach and back muscles) can help reduce the chances of suffering from a bad back later in life as it reduces the strains that are placed on the spine. Muscle building is great for toning and sculpting the body and so can have a much more visual impact than just doing aerobic training.
- Weight Reduction: In combination with a diet, a weight reduction program should consist of cardio exercises, fat burning workouts, toning exercises and core strength training. Losing weight doesn't always equate with being fitter.
You should always consult your doctor and a personal trainer before undertaking a new fitness training program.
