We started out in 2006 as a swim teaching company called sinkorswim.biz. Operating from a small flat in North Bondi, Sydney we built up a national team of private swim teachers which we then matched with clients for swimming lessons in their local area. Whlist the model worked well it was only really viable for the swim season so in 2008 we renamed the company ActiveUnlimited and expanded the model to include personal training, yoga and private tutoring.
Fast forward to 2008 and we've got thousands of teachers on board but still restricted to a specific list of subjects. One of the main problems we were facing was the big variation in experience levels and earning expectations. We were paying the same rate to a high-school leaver that we were paying to a highly experienced teacher so something had to change. We thought we'd open the model up and allow anyone to teach anything and charge whatever they liked for it, and also expand our reach to an international audience as well.
So here is the latest incarnation of ActiveUnlimited. We're here to ensure you get the best possible experience whether you are looking to learn something or teach anything!
